A Quiet Life came about as a result of my own desire for a more intentional, less distracted way of living - combining timeless and considered aesthetics with understated and practical design. My services and products are for those who appreciate quality, well-made goods that last.
Although I had been searching for second hand finds for years, it was during the planning of my own wedding that I began to appreciate how using these beautiful objects could elevate an event and add depth to a space, bringing a distinctive personality and curation. Alongside well made new pieces, I love to source items that are timeless, and have already been enjoyed by many. I like to think that these items have held meaning to others, and carry that value and sentiment with them as they are reused.
In our home I have been able to express my design style through designing our kitchen and curating second-hand pieces that pair well with a modern aesthetic.
The name A Quiet Life is taken from a verse of the Bible found in 1 Thessalonians 4:11, it reads:
This should be your ambition: to live a quiet life, minding your own business and to work with your hands,
just as we told you before.
To me this quiet life isn’t one of shying away, not speaking out, or reclusiveness - it is one of quiet strength and purpose, it doesn't get caught up in other people’s affairs, meddle where it shouldn’t or lose focus. It speaks of taking time to do what matters most, spending time with loved ones and taking care in all the things you do. I want more of that for my life, maybe you do too.
